Autumn Beauty Tips

03 October, 2017 | Staying healthy

The change in season and cooler weather can wreak havoc on our skin. Here are our top 6 beauty tips to see you through the autumn season.

1. Switch your moisturiser

Cooler weather and central heating can dehydrate skin and leave you with a lacklustre complexion. The moisturiser that carried you through the summer months will probably be insufficient for autumn and winter. Switch to a smoother and thicker cream to provide more hydration.

Facial treatments are also beneficial to rebalance your skin and give you a healthy looking complexion.

2. Exfoliate

To prevent your skin from becoming dull, lacklustre and dehydrated during the autumn months, regularly exfoliate. Use a body brush to brush your whole body gently and then apply a body scrub. Apply in gentle circles, concentrating on rough patches before rinsing in the bath or shower.

3. Look after your lips

Protect your lips from chapping in the chill with a lip salve. Choose a product that contains natural waxes, butters and oils to protect, nourish and repair.

4. Moisturise your hands

We regularly expose our hands to the elements, so they are prone to suffer in colder weather. Treat yourself to a good hand cream and apply it often. Wear rubber gloves while doing housework and wear warm gloves outside when the temperature dips.

5. Deep condition your hair

Hair often becomes more flyaway and static as the temperature drops. Treat your hair to a weekly deep conditioning treatment as moisturised hair will be less prone to static.

6. Treat from within

Create healthy skin with a healthy diet rich in fruit and vegetables, plenty of water and a regular exercise routine.
